JR Neal

magic in 88 keys

James Neal aka "JR" is an Arkansas native who began entertaining at the ripe age of 6 in the full-scale, cafeteria-staged interpretation of “Billy Goat’s Gruff” as one of three trolls lurking under a bridge.  He took one single piano lesson at age 9, after which the instructor came to terms with the fact that JR refused to read the sheet music, but only play by ear. With the help of a very supportive family, JR began teaching himself. Not until his high school days did he become comfortable reading music.

In college he sang with and directed a group of fun loving A Cappella guys, the Missouri State Beartones. After four years of hard work, their harmonic dreams came true by representing an entire region of states in New York City's Alice Tully Hall with the distinction of 2nd Runner-Up. Years later the group still magically breaks into song.

The MSU Beartones Alumni get together whenever they can.

Soon after college JR began traveling the world on cruise ships performing hundreds of shows a year in Top Shelf, A Cappella Vocal Quartet

thanks to his years on cruise ships his ability to entertain any crowd has increased dramatically and he began playing the piano again. The parker Neal Duo played for a year together transforming top 40 music into acoustic lounge magic.

BUT AFTER THAT SHORT YEAR JR REALIZED THE PIANO FULLY AND VENTURED OUT ON HIS OWN. NOW WITH A REPERTOIRE OF OVER 400 SONGS, JR LOVES TO SIT FOR HOURS AND SING WITH CROWDS OF ALL AGES.

Currently JR is With Royal Caribbean as the Schooner bar Entertainer. Come Book a Cruise!
